Location was fantastic. Out the front door is the 311 bus that will take you to Central and from there you can do light rail bus or train. You can use your credit or debit card, or you can get an opal card. For 1 week we put $50 on it when we left there was $16 left. We stayed in room 813 fantastic view of the harbour Bridge and Opera house to the left and to the right the bay where you may see a cruise ship come in. Staff were amazing, always polite and helpful, accross the road iis Woolies Metro the prices and range of foods are exceptional. Cafes, restaurants, bakeries all types of shops. A very well presented markets on Saturdays just a short walk up the road. The photos are from our window. You will be impressed with the location the local streets are shaded with magnificent trees 🌳 and many well behaved dogs being walked, it is very pleasant. Communication with the all the staff was speedy and friendly, even ordering a taxi for us. Beds were very comfy

Staff here are amazing and go out of their way to help! On site parking made things a whole lot easier with 3 kids plus suitcases in tow. We arrived in the late evening and walked into a clean and tidy room, bigger than expected. The kitchenette and little dining table were a bonus, and gave the kids more space to eat, plus the desk. Beds were comfortable, sheets and mattress protectors clean. The bathroom was a little small but fully stocked and spotless. Pizza can be delivered from Domino's and there's a Woolies across the road. It was awesome to have access to the ice machine downstairs! The outside deck area was a lifesaver. Gave us somewhere to wait after checkout where the kids could eat and be themselves without disturbing the guests inside. Has a nice little view from the end by the pool too.

So much to like! The staff were beyond helpful, even advising us on a short cut to the Royal Botanic Garden since we were on foot, and looking up a camera shop for us that we needed. When we arrived before check-in time they let us store our luggage until our room was ready, while we took that lovely shortcut. The location is directly across the street from a great Metro grocery, and walking distance from a liquor shop. The room was equipped with kettle, microwave, fridge, and even a 2-burner hot plate, with pots and pans and dishes in the cupboard, so we were able to cook our own eggs for breakfast. We simply couldn’t have been more pleased! In fact, we booked a room there again as we were leaving Australia.

We had a wonderful stay at the Macleay Hotel! The location is fantastic — close to everything, with stunning views of a Harbour. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed, including a small kitchenette which was really convenient. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with local recommendations. We also appreciated how quiet and peaceful the hotel felt despite being in such a central area. We even got to use a shower and bathroom after check out in a staff area which was a huge bonus before heading to the airport late at night Overall, a great value and a perfect base for exploring Sydney. We would happily stay here again!

Ashleigh

Staff were amazingly helpful. We got early access to our room and they give us lots of good advice regarding local shops, restaurants, cafes and different walking routes. We had inadvertently made the same booking twice and they refunded it even through it was a non-refundable booking. We really liked the street the hotel is on. There's lots of good restaurants, cafes, and shops nearby. It's easy to walk to the Botanics and Opera house area, plus there's a bus stop right outside and the train station is a pleasant walk that's short. Really good area and our new favourite place to stay while in Sydney.
